Using a new approach to the herd in Transition (NMA® NEB Management Approach by Granda Team Transition 4.0) and by applying a specific solution (Epat-ox transition: solution designed and produced by Granda Team), applied to cows affected by NEB with high blood values of NEFA and BHBA, it is possible to deal with the peripartum period whilst achieving excellent production performance together with a greatly reduced incidence of metabolic disease.

Evaluating the NEB condition using NEFA quantification in the immediate postpartum period, taking a value of 0.8 mmol/l as a scientifically validated cut-off point
Quantification of the percentage of cows with values above 0.8 mmol/l
Not consider ketosis quantification as to be the sole representative parameter of NEB
Not consider BCS or NEFA concentration before calving to be directly correlated with postpartum NEB values
When more than 20% of cows are presenting NEFA values in excess of 0.8 mmol/l, it is necessary to envisage the use of a specific additive capable of optimizing the energetic potential of mobilised fats
